Croeso nol pawb / Welcome back everyone!

It has been wonderful to welcome our pupils back to school today.
It has been wonderful to welcome our pupils back to school today. It was heartwarming to see how happy our pupils were to be back in school and to see how pleased they were to see the staff again. There were lots of smiles and hugs on the path this morning as the taxis dropped our pupils off.
We have also welcomed lots of new pupils to the school today. Nearly all of our new pupils settled within the first hour of being here, which is a great start to the term. It also reflects how hard the staff have worked over the last two INSET days to prepare the classrooms and lovely activities to engage and settle our pupils into school life at Greenfield.
Over the summer holidays our Estyn Inspection report was published. As a school we are incredibly proud that Estyn has recognised the fantastic support and opportunities that are given to our pupils.
‘Greenfield School is a joyous and nurturing familial community, which supports pupils’ well-being and learning extremely well. Pupils make effective progress from their initial starting points across a range of important skills.’ – Estyn, 2025.
Dawn Bowden MS and Gerald Jones MP have both written to me to congratulate Greenfield on achieving such a positive inspection. Their congratulations letters can be read in the links below.
We have a busy and exciting term ahead of us where our learning will be based upon the theme ‘Looking After Me’ which will explore friendships, self-care/help and mental health.
We are also planning a big production for Christmas this year. Last term pupils voted that they would like us to perform ‘Elf The Musical’, auditions will be held in the next couple of weeks.
As a school we have decided to move over to using Seesaw as our main form of communicating with parents and carers. Class charts will be phased out so please make sure you get the log in details to sign up with Seesaw from your child’s class teacher.
We really appreciate building trusting and good relationships with our parents so we hope to get Parent GRWP back up and running as soon as we can. We also plan to work closely with the Community Focused Schools officer to continue the great work accomplished last year. Several popular activities were arranged for parents to work alongside their child at school to share their learning experience.
On a day-to-day basis, please keep in contact with your child’s class teacher because you can help us to get to know your child better e.g., we want to know if your child has had a difficult night or if they have really enjoyed something.
If you have any queries, concerns or just need a chat please feel free to contact me or any of the Senior Leadership Team via the main office.
Wishing everyone a happy and fantastic term ahead.
Kind Regards
Rhiannon Stephens Davies
