Key Stage 3 has recently had the opportunity to work closely with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to deliver authentic and engaging science lessons to Greenfield learners in conjunction with private sector stakeholders. Greenfield sits within the Bishop Hedley cluster, with our lead school being St Mary’s.
Each term, KS3 learners will take part in a series of 5 lessons, designed and delivered in collaboration with business partners such as Thales, Panasonic and Hoover. The lessons are investigation and problem based and the purpose of the partnership is to develop learners’ physical, problem solving and thinking skills, as well as expose them to some of the skills required in the workplace.
