Dan Bufton – Acting Chair of Governors

My name is Dan Bufton, and I am Sport Development Manager for Active Merthyr, the Sport Development Department for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. As part of that role, I also lead on disability sport, something I have done in the borough for some time before I became manager. That role entails supporting local sports clubs and schools to be more accessible and inclusive in regards to how they deliver sport and physical activity.   

I have worked closely with Greenfield School for a number of years, supporting pupils to access opportunities and working with the school to develop sporting provision. I joined the board of governors a few years ago to further support the school, and I’m delighted to continue that support through my new role as vice chair or governors.
